Chaplain’s Message:

Fr Tien wants to put together a group lay Scalabrinians that would meet once a month for adoration, more info to come.

 

Grand Knight Report:

Dinner for priests on April; parking for youth event; Easter egg hunt; $500 sent for seminarians; sock hop coming up on 5/17; one church one family on May 31; every Thursday is trilingual rosary after 8am mass, looking for knights to attend; parish was donated a 2025 Nissan Kicks, selling raffle tickets for $20 apiece for August drawing with proceeds going to church renovations (hoping to raise $200,000)

 

Bills and Communication:

Thank you from seminarian Caesar for donation

 

Membership Report:

Newest member Nick was present and introduced himself; still working on Nick’s brother Mathew; Dergana brothers who took online degree have finally been squared away

 

Financial Secretary Report:

$235 in cash and $175 in charges from last fish fry

 

Treasurer’s Report:

February/April Balance: $9,955.35

Program Director:

Dinner for priests turned out well, thank you to Lewis and Richard for making it happen; mother’s day breakfast this weekend, last one until September, always need help with setup, service, and cleanup; Sock Hop will need in afternoon setting up tables starting 4:30, will sell tickets to exchange for food, youth group will be manning kids station; May 31 is One Church One Family, Fr asked knights to be in charge of parking for 5:00 mass and event to follow

 

Faith Director Report:

Novena coming up in late June; over next couple COR meetings (third Thursday) will cover the different steps of the mass; trilingual rosary every Thursday after 8:00 mass

 

Community Director:

Sock Hop; June 7 Festa Junina not happening at Resurrection, encourage knights to show up; state council is doing a pilgrimage with motorcycle group to St Augustine on May 24; Spanish community is doing Mother’s Day dinner and concert on May 10 7-11 to raise funds for church renovations; looking to do knights driven fund raiser for church renovations

 

Life Director:

Update on pro-life legislation as reported by Florida Voice For The Unborn, and our collective “victory lap” for the recent passage of The “Petition Reform Bill” (HB 1205) and The “Baby Box Bill” (HB 791); JMJ Pregnancy Center Easter drive, and using the ASAP Program to 20% match donations; prison ministry opportunities at Lake Correctional Institution, Clermont: Kairos Inside; Kairos Outside, and Kairos Torch – 3 separate programs (Catholic Bible Study, Mental Health Unit (MHU) Visitation program; Xodus, a retreat experience for inmates being released within the next 6 – 12 months.  This is spiritual preparation for the “men in blue” who are making the transition to the “free world”)

 

Family Director Report:

Easter egg hunt went well for both masses, including Spanish mass; parking for youth event went very smoothly, event itself was successful

 

Fourth Degree Report:

Put together a plaque for deceased members; not looking good for assembly, have not had more than 9 members attend meeting, next week’s meeting might be final one, might dissolve assembly

 

Insurance Agent Report:

None

 

District Deputy Report:

Council has double Star Council, all four councils in district are meeting Star Council; Robert Higgins is looking for replacement DD, but might return next year

$400 donation to Youth Group for Stubenville conference; looking to hold another ushers meeting, asked for up to $200 to cover food;
