The meeting was called to order on May 6, 2024 at 7:05 pm by GK Scott Kilwein. The following officers were either absent or excused: Deputy Grand Knight Recorder Outside guard Warden Lecter Grand Knight’s report: Introduced a new Knight Michael Varela; One Church/One Family celebration on June 1. Members are asked to bring a pot luck dish that is representative of America. RSVP form was completed and sent to Supreme; Our council was asked to contribute $100 for the state convention booklet. (a motion was made, seconded and passed to pay $100 and a check was given to Rob Urrutia who will pass it to the appropriate party.) Thanks to all who helped with the baby bottle drive. Florida State council is raising money for Choices Women’s clinic. A motion was made to donate $100 to the ASAP Initiative. The motion was passed and a check was written to Florida State KofC Charities. The COR group will meet on May 21 at 7:00 pm. A sympathy card was signed for Elba Gonzales on behalf of her son. His funeral <ass will be on May 9 at 11:00 am at Resurrection. Bills and Communications: We received a thank you note from Habitat for Humanity for our donation. Treasurer’s report: March balance: $10,073.40; April receipts: $0; April expenses: $600.00; April balance $9,473.40. Financial Secretary Report: From our our last Fish Fry $868.00 in cash and $854.00 charged; from the breakfast we had a charge of $109.00 and $91 in cash. Robert Garity was presented with his Honorary Life membership card. Membership report: We need only one or two new members to achieve Star Council. Program Director’s Report: Our Mothers’ Day breakfast will be held on May 12. We will need a lot of help. When the Mass times change, we may want to extend the breakfast time until after the 9:00 am Spanish Mass. Faith Director Report: No report. Life Director Report: We will continue with JMJ Baby Bottle Drive. Community Director Report: No report. Family Director Report: No report. Our new slate of officers was elected. Report of Fourth Degree: The funeral Mass for Mike Crawford was held on April 19 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Clermont. Our Assembly Trial Fr. Sal took part in the Mass. The Honor Guard was present. Don Karher will fill in as purser. The Honor Guard will take part in the Special Olympics opening ceremonies on May 17 at Wide World of Sports. District Deputies Report: Convention coming up Memorial Day Weekend. Delegates will be elected to the Supreme Convention in Montreal.
