Grand Knight Report:
We are in Lent, hope everyone enjoys the season and reflects and grows; thank you to everyone who helped with One Church and One Family; Laps For Life took place over the previous weekend, raised some donations from Fish Fries; Brother Mike brought in books on Life and Legacy of Fr McGivney; fish fries are going great, want to encourage further participation.
Bills and Communication:
No bills
Membership Report:
Paul might have another friend to join, another gentleman is moving to area in April and will want to join church and council then (Peter).
Financial Secretary Report:
Hank Abbott has been reappointed as Financial Secretary; $424 for Feb Big Breakfast (was used for future food needs; $628 for first Fish Fry, $1263 for second Fish Fry.
Program Director:
Fish Fries have been successful, want to keep that success going and need volunteers to make that happen; we have pasta left over and suggested idea of holding pasta dinner for church staff after Easter; Vince Samosky is not doing well, so the council will be sending him a card; no Big Breakfast until May 14 (Mothers’ Day).
Faith Director Report:
Will look into doing Rosary service after May meeting.
Community Director:
Looking into sponsoring lunch for Ruck Walk (would be big undertaking, need to see if it’s possible for us).
Life Director:
Laps For Life event was on March 4 at Bishop Moore High School.
Family Director Report:
Youth Easter Egg Hunt on April 16, will need volunteers.
Fourth Degree Report:
Honor Guard presented at Laps For Life; encouraged more people to join Fourth Degree and attend events in regalia; Ronald McDonald House will take place on April 22.
Insurance Agent Report:
Steve Pomellow introduced himself to council and why he does what he does; wants to meet with everyone and help with recruiting.
District Deputy Report:
Delegates need to register; State Raffle tickets need to be collected and sent in; council needs to submit $100 for convention ad; encouraged council to consider a wheelchair Sunday, in which the council presents the idea to the parish and takes in donations for wheelchairs (info on state website).
Unfinished Business:
Last call for turning in raffle tickets tonight; made out a check for $110 for convention (helping to cover assembly); voted to donate $500 to Laps For Life (using big breakfast proceeds and donations from breakfasts and fish fries, and rounding up difference).
New Business:
Getting new standing mats for kitchen; needs volunteers for kids pizza party at State Convention (May 27); Special Olympics is looking for volunteers for Boche Ball tournament next weekend; will begin having volunteer sign up on website for Supreme Convention.
