None

 

Grand Knight Report:

Introduced brand new member Nick Douva, met him through Big Breakfast, fairly new to parish. Bi Breakfast was huge success, another coming up this Sunday, set up begins at 6:30. Fish fry return was also a success. Laps For Life occurred over the weekend, the council raised $550. KofC is trying to raise money for Ukrainian relief with a goal of $2 million.

 

Membership Report:

Will take members who we haven’t heard from in 18 months and will list them, which will be sent to the DD and then to supreme, and must be completed by March 30. Supreme puts them in a holding council and tries to contact them, if they hear back that they’re interested, they’ll be returned to council.

 

Financial Secretary Report:

Nothing from Supreme, $387 to turn into treasurer from fish fry and big breakfast. Semi annual audit was completed and submitted and received.

 

 

Program Director:

Thank you to those who helped with big breakfast and fish fry, more to come and help still needed. Profits won’t be as big as fish prices have increased. Help can show up as early as 2:00 on Friday and 6:30 on Sunday. Will need someone to step up to take Hank’s place on March 18. Special Olympics will take place in June and assistance will be needed. Look for info about registering to come in email.

 

Bills and Communication:

None

 

Faith Director Report:

Nothing to report.

 

Community Director:

Nothing to report, although passed commendations for Paul Weisner’s work with American Legion.

 

Life Director:

Still in need of life director.

 

Family Director Report:

Council was asked to provide pizza party for kids at state convention. Looking for volunteers, who will need to go through safe environment training. Next year, during the first week of August, the supreme convention will be in Orlando.

 

Fourth Degree Report:

Presented icon for persecuted Christians to Fr Sal, nothing coming for Ronald McDonald House, hoping to change that. On June 18 there will be a virtual Fourth Degree 11:00-1:00, at St Nicholas Church.

 

Insurance Agent Report:

None

 

District Deputy Report:

Will need to discuss with Fr Hector bringing the St Joseph icon to the church for a week during March 28-April 18. Must get delegates for state convention registered. Council is doing good with returning programs. Silver Rose is program started by couple Knights in Mexico, 5 silver roses are spread throughout country every year, is presented in a service in July.

 

Unfinished Business:

Ester Egg hunt will be April 24, more information to come next meeting.

 

New Business:

Supreme has set up link on website (https://www.kofc.org/secure/en/donate/ukraine.html) to donate to support people in Ukraine, if council donates $1000, it gets points to SP7. Council will use combination of Fish Fry and Big breakfast proceeds, individual donations, and council donation to meet this. Council nominated Rob Urrutia to be State Deputy. Bob Garrity will take point on setting up a seminarian for the council.

 

Lecturer’s Reflection:

History lesson on Ukraine and its relationship with Russia; in 1922 Soviets moved into Ukraine, Stalin appointed quota for farmers, starving many to death (5 million).
