Chaplain’s Message:

Dcn Fred is on vacation in Arkansas for his grandson’s first holy communion, but he passed along a message reminding us we are all knights who serve others, and that this council is the most giving and serving he has experience, and he is delighted by the outpouring of appreciation for the books we donated.

 

Grand Knight Report:

Happy Independence Day!

Next month’s (August) meeting will be in person as well as broadcast over Zoom. The new fiscal year has begun, and Scotty will be contacting all the committee directors, we want to make it a star council year. Thanked those who attended the state officer induction and congratulated Rob Urrutia and all new state officers.

July knight of the month goes to Matt Abbott.

 

Membership Report:

Nothing, but is looking forward to meeting in person and connect with parishioners.

 

Financial Secretary Report:

Dues are due, bring money to august meeting ($30).

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Per capita will be sent out in morning.

Program Director:

Nothing, hoping to start planning things for the year at the August meeting.

 

Bills and Communication:

Nothing

 

Faith Director Report:

Nothing, hoping to kick off 2022 with the annual spiritual retreat.

 

Community Director:

Has neighbor who is wheelchair bound who started Oceans of Hope, a group that once a month sets up surf days at Daytona Beach, getting those who don’t have use of their legs surfing; brother Len partook in that event last month, the next session is later in July, and he will keep the council informed of opportunities to help out.

 

Life Director:

There are some federal and state bills that will need our support in the near future that effect respect for life. Dcn Fred will pass them along when he receives them.

 

Family Director Report:

None

 

Fourth Degree Report:

Had a good turnout for the honor guard at the state officer installation. The assembly begins meeting in person in July while also broadcasting on Zoom. The Slavic dinner will be held on November 13. The Fourth Degree traditionally goes to Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner for Christmas and have already made the reservation for this December.

 

Insurance Agent Report:

None

 

District Deputy Report:

None, a new District Deputy is being assigned, not sure who that is, will plan council’s installation of officers once that position has been filled.

 

Unfinished Business:

Recycling bin plans have been drafted, Ben can get the steel donated, and is hoping to get everything donated, but will present cost for anything that can’t. Will be a 6x6x8 structure with fine mesh walls and large mesh floor and ceiling, with openings for depositing cans and another for removing them. Ben and Scotty will schedule a time to meet with Fr Carlos to present the plans.

The test of the equipment to be used for the August meeting live stream was conducted and successful.

Scotty wants to set up a date for a degree ceremony, will contact Fr Carlos about availability of the church.

 

New Business:

Scotty proposed an altar server of the month program, and is looking for ideas for appropriate prizes.

The church is starting a new group called the Mothers of Preschool Group.

The council is looking to organize a remembrance rosary service.
