Chaplain’s Message:
Sends his best, thanks Knights for the work we’re doing for the parish.
Grand Knight Report:
Wishing the best for Fr Vincenzo on his move to Rome. Has been with Resurrection since 2015.
Pray for vocations.
Br John Long celebrated 85th birthday last month.
Membership Report:
One prospect from 8am mass, will attend big breakfast for further discussion. Will look into adding sign up portion to council website.
Financial Secretary Report:
$95 for convention program ad.
Program Director:
Big Breakfast on Sunday, Hank will be there at 6:30, will need help for set up, food service, and clean up. Ash Wednesday is March 2, fish fry is March 4 (before next meeting) will need help (start as early as 2).
Bills and Communication:
$95 for convention program ad.
Faith Director Report:
Council will participate in Fr Vincenzo celebration; details to come. Will look into giving monetary donation/gift to him.
Community Director:
Finished Safety Course, recognized Paul Weisner for his work with American Legion and eye glasses collection efforts. If any Knights do outside activities, reach out to Len about their work to encourage more participation. Special Olympics World Games at Wide World of Sports is looking for 500 volunteers June 1-13. Sign ups to come.
Life Director:
Still need a director, encouraging all members to consider take that position.
Family Director Report:
None
Fourth Degree Report:
Jan 29th there was online 4th degree exemplification; will pass along information for when next one comes up. Feb 20th past state deputy Don Carrera as received icon for persecuted Christians which will be presented to Fr Sal at 10:30 Byzantine mass
Insurance Agent Report:
Covers 8 councils, wants to get to each council once a quarter. Brian will be walking in Laps For Life, welcomed members to donate to him. If you are considering moving your money, reach out to Knights of Columbus for assistance. Looking for new agents in the district, reach out to Brian if interested or know anyone who might be.
District Deputy Report:
February 15th Grand Knight and Financial Secretary will be participating in meeting allowing council to remove people from roster. Council needs to elect convention delegates. Each council can have St Joseph icon for a week March 28-April 18, there is a prayer card that comes with it. Council is in compliance for safety training.
Unfinished Business:
Big Breakfast will resume on February 13th. Still accepting ideas for Altar Server of the month.
New Business:
Will look into setting up Laps For Life team. Convention, May 13-15, primary delegates: Scotty Kilwein and George Bertsch; Alternates: Rob Knof and Bob Garity. Sr Pat has ordered confirmation bibles, asked if Knights can chip in the $463; motion passed. Put together retention committee to connect with absent members and clear MIA members. Easter egg hunt April 24 after 8am mass, will need volunteers. Ministry of the sick is in need of volunteers. Fr Hector needs help with storage bin that has various machines that need looking over; if you are mechanically inclined, reach out to Fr Hector. Council donated $250 to Catholic Appeal. Will donate $250 to Fr Vincenzo, council members can donate to council to cover cost.
Lecturer’s Reflection:
Told story of some of the 9 US military Catholic Chaplains who have been awarded the Medal of Honor, ~300 chaplains have lost their lives, 9 awarded medal of hononr, 5 Catholics, first during WWII Timothy O’callahan on aircraft carrier Franklin. Three medal of honor chaplains during Vietnam war
