Grand Knight Report:

Thank you to George for filling in last month; thank you to new members; financial secretary evaluation form was submitted; membership dues are needed ($30, cash, check, credit card); thank you to DD Richard for installation of officers; September meeting is third Monday (9/15) due to Labor Day; thank you to those who helped with traveling icon, including Ernest; trilingual rosary service is every Thursday; car raffle still happening, looking for help to sell tickets after masses, drawing on 8/31

 

Bills and Communication:

$100 donation from Ken and Ginger in Pittsburgh; ~$320 to ship 6 boxes of shoes and socks to San Diego

 

Membership Report:

No new members right now, might have someone interested in becoming insurance representative; four individuals who are potentially interested in joining

 

Financial Secretary Report:

$318.45 for shipping of shoes; turned in $403 in donations and dues; audit was submitted and received

 

Treasurer’s Report:

May Balance: $9,626.45

July Receipts: $1,235.78

July Expenses: $1,708.11

Program Director:

September big breakfast was returning on 9/14 but kitchen and halls are booked, will return on October 12; Winter Garden Christmas parade is December 6th

 

Faith Director Report:

Fr McGivney novena will run August 5-13; Sacred Heart icon (portrait) was on display in church and was very well received by parish; Thursday Rosary services ongoing; COR meetings ongoing

 

Community Director:

None

 

Life Director:

Kairos #75 weekend moved to the early part of next year, don't have a date yet; visitation program that started in the mental health unit at Lake Correctional Institute is still going nicely, but is the only program left now, 670 inmates encounters; there is a grassroots effort to establish and recognize a national day of remembrance for aborted children on September 13th; Stuff the Crib ended this past weekend, the last of the stuff that was donated in the church was picked up, will get a valuation to submit for the KofC ASAP matching program (more than 3,400 diapers were donated, with the Brazilian community responsible for about 2,700 of those); JMJ Gala is coming up September 20

 

Family Director Report:

Looking to hold spaghetti dinner in September to benefit preschool, probably middle of the month

 

Fourth Degree Report:

New flag is up at St Nicholas, looking to hold formal flag raising ceremony next week; Vince Samosky passed and has had his name added to plaque of deceased members in church and at assembly; looking to collect items for veterans, Walmart gift cards, art supplies, snacks, cooking supplies, hygiene and wellness, encouraging members of council to bring things in to meetings, hoping to start a quarterly distribution

 

Insurance Agent Report:

Looking for a new field agent, Alex has left the position, contact Rob Urrutia in the meantime

 

District Deputy Report:

Encouraged the council to put together live first degree team; $25000, $5000, and $1000 prizes for raffle tickets, encouraged members to take ticket books; encourage members to get out and talk to people to join and reach out to members who are present to come back, wants to start phone call list

 

Unfinished Business:

Scotty is holding a fundraiser on August 16 in Clearwater for Lighthouse for the Blind, taking donations and will present it as a donation from the council; former council Grand Knight Vince Samosky will be on the intention list for the Oct 19 10:30AM mass at RCC, his wife Janet plans to attend

 

New Business:

Challenge 22 Ruck Walk will be November 15, they are looking for volunteers again, more info to come at future meeting
